A US diplomat in Afghanistan has resigned.
He wrote a letter, which was published in the Washington Post. It's worth a read, for anyone thinking about what Canada's role there should be or if there should be a role.
He was a fairly junior diplomat, so I don't think there will be much fallout, but his analysis of the situation seems accurate to me.
